The wide range of training and education opportunities members of 1199SEIU have established include:

  • No-cost or low-cost medical classes at local colleges and universities.

  • Tuition reimbursement for undergraduate degree programs. Undergraduate students have a total maximum benefit of up to $4,160 per semester, for a maximum of $8,320 per calendar year.

  • No-cost seminars and health care related classes at 1199SEIU.

  • No-cost classes in computer literacy, English and other skills at 1199SEIU.

  • Up to $750 a year to attend professional conferences and seminars to stay current in the health care field.

  • Training in new, more marketable skills if job requirements CHANGE.

  • Paid time off to attend classes.
